MORIARTY, Leo - Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, September 20, 2004, Leo Moriarty of Harbour Grace, in his 90th year. World War II Merchant Navy Veteran, a 50-year member of Dalton Council, Knights of Columbus and a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15, Harbour Grace. Predeceased by parents: William and Josephine (nee Hayden); daughters: Ann, Elizabeth and infant daughter; son: Paul; brothers: Pat, Ron, Bill, Jim and Mike; sister: Mary. Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of 61 years: Margaret (nee McCarthy); children: Leo, Ferryland, Sheila (John) Dunphy, Harbour Grace, Margaret (Byron) Dawe, St. John's, Marian (Ivan) Penney and Pete (Gladys), both of Harbour Grace and Joan (Leland) Mercer, St. John's; daughter-in-law: Helen (Jim), Harbour Grace; ten grandchildren: Richard, Heather (Blair), Brian, Laura, Sarah, Maura, Katie, Elizabeth, Janet and Maggie; two sisters: Marguerite Ryan, St. John's and Florence Kennedy, Harbour Grace; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Moriarty, Ottawa, ON and Nell Moriarty, NB; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, HARVEY STREET, HARBOUR GRACE and from where the funeral will take place on Thursday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Harbour Grace. Flowers gratefully accepted or as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to Immaculate Conception R.C. Project Restoration Fund or to a charity of one's choice.
