OLIVER, Capt. Hedley W. - Passed suddenly away with his loving wife and family by his side at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Tuesday, October 19, 2004, Capt. Hedley W. Oliver, formerly of Burnt Point, age 60 years. Predeceased by parents: Robert and Blanche; brother: Jethro; sister-in-law: Jean Oliver; brothers-in-law: Tom Clarke, Everett Piercey and Herbert Lambert. Leaving to mourn his wife Bernice E. of 37 years; one daughter: Michelle (Scott) Riddle, St. John's; two sons: Darren, St. John's and Shawn (Stephanie), Elmsdale, NS; two brothers: Winston (Kathleen), Burnt Point and Ralph, Seal Cove; three sisters: Bessie Lambert, Burnt Point, Cavell Piercey, Hearts Content and Lizzie Clarke (Simon), Gander; sisters-in-law: Molly Oliver, Burnt Point and Vera (Jim) Finn, Toronto, ON; brother-in-law: Harold (Ruth) Wicks, Caledon East, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, MAIN HIGHWAY, WESTERN BAY until 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 22. Funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road, St. John's. In lieu of flowers; as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Capt. Hedley Oliver Memorial Fund.
