Obituary of Mary Doyle

DOYLE, Mary Ellen of Gull Island (December 1, 1922 - July 8, 2005) age 82 years. We are deeply saddened to announce that on Friday, July 8, 2005 at the Carbonear General Hospital we lost a loving, cherished and beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and special friend. Mary Ellen was a lady of enormous dignity and courage who passed away as she lived " with grace, inspiring strength and strong in her faith. Mary Ellen was the eldest child of the late Lawrence Mullaly (1958) and the late Mary Kenny (1990) of Northern Bay. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Doyle (1962) and brothers: Bill Mullaly (1996) and Jack Mullaly (2004) and his wife Rita (2002). Left to cherish the memories of her smile and laughter, her patience, love and guidance are her children: Donna (Michael) Hewson, of Gatineau, QC; Peter Doyle (Pauline) and family of Okotoks, AB, Josie (Charlie) LeShane and family of Cupids and Larry Doyle (Classie Drover) and family of Baie Verte. Mourning their loss are her sisters: Trudy (John) Brown, Bride (Pat deceased, 1996) Gushue, Josephine (Frank deceased, 1973) Simms and Marie (Dan) Gogal; her brothers: Leo (Shirley) Mullaly and Bernard Mullaly (Nora Connors); her aunts: Nell Kenny and Bride (Kenny) Johnson. Mary Ellen will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, her large extended family and her wide circle of friends. She will be dearly missed by her longtime friend Jim Doyle and her neighbour Ed Chafe. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, MAIN HIGHWAY, WESTERN BAY after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12 and from where the funeral will take place on Thursday, July 14 at 2:00 p.m. Mass to follow at 2:30 p.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Northern Bay. Flowers gratefully accepted or as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the North Shore Central Ambulance Fund or a charity of one's choice.
