HARGREAVES, Capt. John 'Jack'- Passed peacefully away, following a short illness, at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Sunday, November 20, 2005, Capt. John 'Jack' Hargreaves, Master Mariner, formerly of Poulton-Ley-Fylde, Lancashire, England, age 78 years. Predeceased by parents: William and Florence; sisters: Anne and Elsie; brother: William and son-in-law: Douglas Cron. Leaving to mourn two daughters: Ann Cron, Harbour Grace and Christine Hargreaves (Rarfn), England; three sons: Capt. John (Ruby) and Capt. Brian (Wanda), both of Harbour Grace and Michael (Amanda), Kingston-Upon-Hull, England; grandchildren: Charlene (Todd), Michelle, Stephanie, Katrina (David), Jackie, Rebecca, Sarah, Christopher, Samantha, Victoria and Matthew; special granddaughter: Andrea; great-grandchildren: Adam, Ashley, Jessica and James; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, HARVEY STREET, HARBOUR GRACE on Tuesday, November 22 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. and from where the funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 23 at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment to follow in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace. No flowers by request; as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Janeway Children's Hospital, St. John's or to a charity of one's choice.
