When I was a very young child, I was caught in a snowstorm on my way home from Corpus Christi School in Northern Bay. As I was passing by the Morrissey's house, Mrs. Morrissey started motioning and calling all of the kids on the roadway to come into her home to get out of the storm. She made us take off our wet coats, hats, cuffs and scarves and hung them behind the stove to dry. She fed a crew of us corned beef hash, home made bread, probably Maggie's butter and tea. I had my tea in a measuring cup because there were so many of us and not enough cups to go around. Mr. was in the living room and I remember looking around the corner to chat with him. He was smiling and asking us how we were doing. This was a large family (with one of the best cooks on the shore) who opened up their home to look after all these youngsters on a cold and stormy day. I fondly remember this day and it comes to mind time after time when I have to use "My" measuring cup. To the family - I am sure there are many kind memories out there that you may never hear of...I just wanted to share one of mine with you at this precious time. Regards, Andria
