GILBERT, Cal - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Monday, July 2, 2012, Cal Gilbert of Victoria, age 83 years. Predeceased by parents: Walter and Stella Gilbert; brothers: Freeman and Neil; sisters: Mae, Eileen and Mildred. Leaving to mourn, wife: Joan; one daughter: Krista Gilbert (Geoffrey Whalen), St. John's; one son: Cally (Tina), Highlevel, AB; two step-grandchildren: Whitney and Lexie; one brother: Murley (Carrie), Fall River, NS; sister-in-law: Gwen Gilbert, Swift Current; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Tuesday from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00p.m. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, July 5 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NL.
