Obituary of Jean Armoural Penney

PENNEY, Jean Armoural (nee Butt) - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Thursday, September 7, 2006, Jean Penney of Carbonear, age 80 years. Predeceased by her parents, John (1959) and Alethia (1941), her husband Raymond (Sept. 7, 1997) and four siblings, Florence (1979), Annie (1987), Margaret (1969) and Edward (2005). Left with fond and loving memories are her four children, John (Margaret), Mount Pearl, Ray (Olga), St. John's, Pat, St. John's and Randy (Hughena), St. John's; seven grandchildren, Christine, Michelle, Geoffrey, Carmen, Sheldon, Kaitlin and Michael; five great-grandchildren, Marcus, Ryan, Janelle, Shane and Ethan. Also left with fond memories are eight siblings, Stephen (Gertrude), John, Harold, Gerald (Crystal), Leslie (Myrtle), William (Pauline), Graham (Joan) and Gladys (Ron) Osmond. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear with visitation hours on Saturday, September 9 fom 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., Sunday, September 10 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. and Monday, September 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service on Monday, September 11 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church and Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in Jean's memory may be made to Bethany United Church, Carbonear. "God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be. So he closed his arms around you and whispered, "come to me." You didn't deserve what you went through, so he gave you rest. God's garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best, and when he saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain, we could not wish you back to suffer that again."
