PENNEY, Lucy C.- Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, October 21, 2006, Lucy C. Penney of Carbonear, age 84 years. Predeceased by daughter: Joan, two infant sons, one infant daughter, parents: John and Rhoda Pilgrim, four sisters and three brothers. Leaving to mourn, husband: Samuel B.; seven daughters: May (Adolph) Gosse, Queen's Cove, Lillian (Frank) Stice, California, USA, Florence (Kevin) Janes, St. John's, Frances (Robert) Pike, Bradford, ON, Goldie (Bruce) Baker, Carbonear, Lois (Eldred) Dean, Victoria and Judy (Denis) Mulloy, St. John's; four sons: Silas (Linda), Carbonear, Calvin, St. John's, Paul (Karen), Mount Pearl and Wade, St. John's; twenty-six grandchildren: Valerie, Sid, Dave, Frank, Howard, Anthony 'BJ', Heather, Gale, Kerri, Trevor, Curtis, Cory, Brett, Adam, Lori, Terry, Penny, Erin, Matthew, Lisa, Blain, Meghan, Victoria, Luke, Georgianne and Samantha; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Allan Pilgrim, Conception Bay South; two sisters: Rita Hillier and Libby (Henry) Humby, both of Griquet; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear until 12:00 noon Tuesday, October 24. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from Calvary Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
