DEERING, Thomas- Passed suddenly away at his residence on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, Thomas Deering of Carbonear, age 78 years. Predeceased by son-in-law: Rick Lane; brothers: Jordan, James and Graham; sisters: Carrie, Lotty Mae and Hazel. Leaving to mourn, wife: Gladys; two daughters: Eileen Lane, Brampton, ON and Marion Mercer and husband Tony Kenny, Thicket, Riverhead, Harbour Grace; one son: David (Shirley) Deering, Carbonear; seven grandchildren: Kimberley-Ann, Darren, Jeff, Leonard, Nancy, KellyAnn and Christa; three sisters: Mary Colbourne and Dolly (Edward) Clarke, both of Carbonear, Elizabeth (Charles) Moores, St. John's; sisters-in-law: Annie Deering, Carbonear and Mary Deering, Salmon Cove; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear until 12:00 noon Friday, November 10. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers; as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, St. John's.
