PILGRIM, William - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, January 27, 2007, William Pilgrim of Carbonear, age 91 years. William served in the Canadian Army as a Royal Canadian Engineer; he was a long time employee of Regatta Ford, both in St. John's and Spaniard's Bay; and devoted over 60 years of his life to the Salvation Army Band, both in St. John's and Carbonear. Predeceased by wife: Bertha, 1984, sister-in-law: Margaret Pilgrim, 2005 and nephew: Wellington Pilgrim, 2006. Leaving to mourn, one son: Robin (Norma), London, Ontario; one daughter: Joan (Bob) Stone, St. John's; granddaughter: Nancy Stone and cherished great-grandson: Zackary, St. John's; two brothers: George, Carbonear and Fred (Elsa), Clarke's Beach; nephews: Calvin, Bramwell, Carson, Kent and Craig Pilgrim and their families; nieces: Lorraine Dwyer and Helen LeDrew and their families; as well as many other extended family and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear after 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28 and until 12:00 noon Monday, January 29. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel and Cemetery, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army Band Fund, Carbonear.
