OLIVER, James 'Jim' - Passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, January 6, 2011, James 'Jim' Oliver of Gull Island, age 58 years. Predeceased by parents: Patrick and Ellen Oliver; brother: John; birth mother: Ella Nash. Leaving to mourn, wife: Patricia 'Patsy'; two daughters: Nicole (Tony) Bursey, Paradise and Chrissy (Sheldon) Smith, Conception Bay South; one son: Jamie (Courtney), Paradise; three grandchildren: Zachary, Carley and Jada; three brothers: Larry (Rose), Caplin Cove, Billy (Jill) and Brian (Kim), both of Ontario; five sisters: Betty Penney, Western Bay, Ann (Pat) Carrigan, Harbour Grace, Joan (Kevin) Guy, Corner Brook, Linda (Max) Noseworthy, Calgary, AB and Barb (Nelson) Mills, Corner Brook; special nephews: John, Ross and Wayne Penney; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay after 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Funeral Mass to take place on Monday, January 10 at 10:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, St. John's.
