SIMMS, Jonathan- Passed peacefully away at Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St. John's on Monday, May 14, 2007, Jonathan Simms of Carbonear, age 86 years. Predeceased by parents: Josiah and Maryann; brothers: Lewis, James and Hubert; sisters: Rella Forward, Mary Powell, Ada Upward and Elizabeth Sage. Leaving to mourn, two sisters: Marjorie Johnston, Pickering, ON and Ruby (James) Bourne, Mount Pearl; sister-in-law: Joyce Simms, Carbonear; brother-in-law: Cyril Upward, Peterborough, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, WATER STREET, CARBONEAR with visitation hours by request of the family, Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to follow on Thursday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Interment to follow in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
