OATES, Russell M.- Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, June 4, 2007, Russell M. Oates of Carbonear, age 54 years. Member of the Masonic Lodge # 1043, Carbonear. Predeceased by parents: Cecil and Annie; father-in-law: Bill Bowman. Leaving to mourn: wife: Elaine; three daughters: Sara, Mackenzie and Mikaela; one brother: John 'Jack' (Karen), St. John's; two sisters: Yvonne (Elmer) Davis, Carbonear and Carol (Bob) Simms, St. Anthony; special aunt: Ruby Russell, Halifax, NS; mother-in-law: Margaret Bowman, Carbonear; sisters-in-law: Patsy (Tom) Westcott, Topsail, Peggy (Herb) Davis, Freshwater, Marie Taylor, St. Philips and Michelle (Tom) Yetman, Carbonear; brothers-in-law: William (Brenda) Bowman and Brian (Marilyn) Bowman, both of Carbonear; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, WATER STREET, CARBONEAR after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday and until 12:00 noon Thursday, June 7. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment to follow in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the ALS Society, PO Box 844, Corner Brook, NL A2H 6H6.
