Obituary of Mary 'Mame' Swanton

SWANTON, Mary 'Mame' (Sutton) - Passed away with friends and family by her side on Jan. 20, 2011 in Exeter, New Hampshire, USA, following a period of declining health. She was born in Newfoundland Canada on June 19, 1942, to Emanuel and Laura Sutton. Mame worked at Rockingham County Nursing Home for over thirty years. She enjoyed her work and took much pride on helping others. Mame was known for making her friends and family feel loved unconditionally. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and was a product of kindness. Mame took much pride of her Canadian heritage and shared many "Newfy" stories with everyone around her. Family members include her children, Daniel Martel, California, Jeff Martel and Lori Ford, both of New Hampshire; nine grandchildren, Daniel Martel, Zachary Martel, Brittany Ford, Kathryne Evert, Alexandria Simonds, Ryan Ford, Kelsey Martel, Emily Ford, and Tyler Martel; siblings Emma (Joseph) Noel, Carbonear, Clyde (Daphne) Sutton, Grand Falls-Windsor, Hayward (Sheila) Sutton, Abbotsford, BC and Manuel 'June' (Mary) Sutton, Victoria, followed by nephews, nieces, cousins and close friend Cathy Vigoda. Comfort takes place knowing that she is in Heaven with her late spouse John Swanton and her parents. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church, Victoria. Inurnment at the United Cemetery, Victoria.
