Megan Peach (Granddaughter) posted a condolence

The news came to Norman Wells all the way from Newfoundland, it may be a long ways away, but it still hurt just as much as if I were right there. Answering the phone to "Megan, your pop..." and those 3 words were all I had to hear, to bring tears to my eyes. Although, we all knew the time would eventually come, there was always hope that no matter what he would always pull through, which he had done so many times before. After processing the news I started to think of the times we shared with Pop. And, the memories that came to my mind the most were of my brothers and I as kids. Whenever something went wrong, like the time Mark cut his finger; or if we needed anything, a ride to a school dance, a place to hide out if "we" (mostly Mark!) wanted to skip school, or even just money for a chocolate bar; our first response would always be to "call pop!" And, no matter what it was, or how much he would sputter, he would always be there! "Call Pop" was the one phrase I heard many times growing up, and now, even though he can't come running everytime we call him, he will still be in our hearts, he will still be listening for our calls, and will always be there to help us with our problems! I wish I were there with the whole family, but I wanted ye to know that I'm thinking of you all during this difficult time.
