Obituary of Melvina Butt

BUTT, Melvina - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, January 5, 2015, Melvina Butt of Salmon Cove, age 94 years. Predeceased by husband: Rupert, infant daughter: Hilda, son: William, grandson: Rodney, parents: Josiah and Bertha Slade, sisters: Nina and Rosalie, brother: William and “special person” Marilyn. Leaving to mourn, six daughters: Betty (Raymond) Hussey, Mount Pearl, Rosalie (Calvin) Porter, Bay Roberts, Patricia (George) Slade, Salmon Cove, Sylvia (Cecil) King and Lorna (Samuel) King, both of Victoria and Dawn (George) Smith, Carbonear; four sons: Lester (Sandra), Roy (Beverley), David (Mary) and Garry (Joanne), all of Salmon Cove; twenty grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Thursday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment in Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove.
