PENNEY, Bernice A. - Passed peacefully away after a short illness at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, Bernice A. Penney of Salmon Cove, age 70 years. Predeceased by husband: Woodrow; parents: Leonard and Minnie Granville; sister: Elva Granville; brothers: Lloyd, Gerald and Harold. Leaving to mourn, three daughters: Sherrie (Brian) Cole, Salmon Cove, Kim (Brad) Cole, Paradise and Carolyn (Cory) Layman, Salmon Cove; two sons: Randy (Cheryl), Fogo Island and Wade (Sherry), Victoria; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother: Bob (Marg) Granville, Gander; three sisters: Myrtice (John) London, Omaha, Nebraska, Verna Garon (Terry), Ontario and Carolanne Tuma, Gander and her special cat: Kia; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Friday, January 30 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment in Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Riverside United Church, P.O. Box 250, Salmon Cove, NL A0A 3S0.
