Belated condolences to Uncle Cliff’s family. I was not aware he was such a horseman. I have always loved horses and for the past 20 years they have been part of my everyday life. Since I knew of no one else in the family who were involved with horses I always wondered where I had gotten this love. Now I can honestly say it’s in my blood. May you Rest In Peace Uncle Cliff. Regina and I were saddened to hear of Mr Garlands death.He was a fine man.
Business leader in the community, interested in many things
A Gentleman for sure. I think knew him my entire life.
I remember one time we were seated side by side on a flight from Toronto,
he impressed me then, as a calm collected man and a fountain of common sense.
He lived a long and active life, and I admired him

Just wanted to pass on my condolences on the passing of your father.
I have fond memories of both your parents from my younger days..... The gentleness and the kindness from your mom and the kidding I received from your father. Your father had great fun tormenting me about my so called brush cut I got on a visit to St. John's. Despite my attempt to hide what hair I had left, he always managed to check under my cap and renew his laughter and teasing. Well now!!!!
He reached a great age. Take comfort in your fond memories of your dad.

I am so sorry for the passing of your dad and a fine man. He would call me each time he needed a haircut asking for a date we would chuckle and make that date .A couple of time I forgot and he would call me telling me I stood him up . I always enjoyed our little chat while I cut his hair. He always asked for Norm and wanted to know about the mill. I only got to know Cliff in his latter years as I met him at the track. I was always impressed by his positive attitude and his aspiration to win. Something we shared. I am so sorry to hear of Cliffs death. I had the pleasure to have worked at W. G. Garland Ltd. for a number of years while he still owned the company and we got along quite well...
