Dear Nick, Jeanne,Lillian,Jackie, Rachelle & extended families,
Please accept our deepest sympathies in the passing of our dear Aunt Ruby. She was such an amazing, kind, family oriented, sweet Aunt & will be remembered with very fond memories. From our visit as kids to see your folks in Winsor, Ont to hanging around with Rachelle as teenagers, Aunt Ruby was always the best. Homemade cookies, warm hugs or just a good ol chat...I will always cherish those memories. Hoping you will all keep your memories close to your heart. Oh how she loved to have you all come visit! Know that you are all being thought about today & the days ahead as you grieve this huge loss. Rest in Peace Aunt Ruby
Much love to you all
Beverley Anne, Eric, Kristen & Nicholas

To Nick, Jean, Lillian, Jackie and Rachelle,
We are so sorry for your loss. She was such a prominent member of our family and she will be so missed by all of us. There is not many of us who do not have a memory of one of Aunt Ruby's famous lines. Here is one that stands out for me:
Two young tykes named Jimmy Crack Corn & Junior, at the age of 8 or 9, decided to hike to Bowring Park for a day of swimming.
As they were leaving the house Aunt Ruby's threat was hanging over their shoulders, "If you kids drown while you're there, I'll kill you when you get back!!".
Aunt Ruby, we love and miss you!!
Jimmy, Carolyn and families.

My sincere condolences to thr family in the loss of your mother. Ruby was a cousin to my mother, Joan Mercer of Shearstowvn. My mother took me to visit her and your dad during one of my visits while they were still living in their home in Harbou Grace. They were both very kind and gracious to me and my mother and I had them for dinner one evening and your mom bought the most delicious apple pie. I believe at the time that a relative from the west coast was visiting and staying with them. My mother loved your mom and we always spoke of her when we chatted on the phone. I am happy to hear that she lived to be in her nineties. Both your parents were indeed wonderful people and I pray that they rest in peace. Sincerely.....Sandra.

Nick, Jeanne, Lil, Jackie, Rachelle and families - so many memories, too many to recount here - the time we crashed the Tizzards' car (all of us under the age of seven) and Aunt Ruby hugged us, cried and yelled all in the same breath. Her open arms and cries of delight when we arrived for summer vacation. My mother's sister - how we adored her. She was such a huge part of my growing up. She will be lovingly missed.

I am in Ottawa visiting my son & family but everyday I read theTelegram. I was saddened to hear about Ruby's passing.I first met her when she would come down to visit her husband on the Alzheimer's floor where my husband Bill resided. A month ago Bill was moved upstairs & I met her again. She always spoke to me & we talked about how cruel Alzheimer's was. She always had a smile for me.I dropped into her room a couple of times when Rachelle (I think) was with her.
I will remember Ruby & the family in my prayers. May God bless you all as you say goodbye to a wonderful lady.

I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Bruce, Judy and I have so many happy memories of visiting your house on Mount Royal Avenue. Your mom was such a loving and caring person. She always welcomed us inside to play on a rainy day and of course she always had a cake or cookies to share with us. I am sure she has left you with many happy memories to treasure to rest of your life.
Love to you all

Hands together, held in strange embrace.......
knowing that you have found eternal grace.
The road you took was winding and long
so now it is time just join us in song.
We sing you hymns that we hope you will love,
and see you to your new home
where you'll be watching from above.
Then comes the part that our family does well,
we remember everything you've done - Good, Bad or Funny as Hell!
We'll say, "I remember when..."
or "Oh my God, do you remember the time.... "
These are the stories that is our lore
and you are the final member of that group who leaves our shore.
In comes the tradition of "Blessings across the water"
knowing that you'll be at every celebration,
we're all going to watch for your pokes 'I'm here!" <3

Mom & Dad in 1957. By then, they had 4 children...Nick, Jean, Lil & Jackie. Mom would have been 33 years and Dad 35 years....younger than most of their grandchildren now. Time is so precious and it goes by so fast. Enjoy what you have now....as Mom would say....you can't take it with you.
