Obituary of Gladys W. Deering

May 22, 1929 – June 12, 2016 Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Sunday, June 12, 2016, Gladys W. Deering of Carbonear, age 87 years. Predeceased by husband: Thomas; son-in-law: Rick Lane; brothers: Lionel, Oscar, Gus, Sandy, Amos, Nathaniel and Stanley; sisters: Annie, Lilly, Myrtle, Susie and Muriel. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Eileen Lane, Brantford, ON and Marion Mercer, Thicket, Riverhead, Harbour Grace; one son: David (Shirley), Carbonear; seven grandchildren: Kimberley Ann (Brian), Darrin, Jeff (Erin), Leonard (Lori), Nancy (Chad), Kelly Ann, and Krista (Arthur); seven great-grandchildren: Brendan, Mitchel, Kristen, Natille, Lacey, Joey and Carrie; three brothers: Pleamon Clarke, Victoria, Don (Gladys) Clarke, St. John’s and Bert (Olga) Clarke, Manuels; sisters-in-law: Joyce Clarke and Bertha Mae Clarke, both of Victoria; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Monday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, June 15 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear.
