It is difficult to express words to convey our feelings for A. Florence. As I contemplate the fact that we did not get the opportunity to say hello or goodbye to her when we were in Victoria,I realized that one of these days we will get to say hello in Heaven! Many have expressed appreciation for this great lady and the kindnesses she bestowed on them. Florence's words of love & encouragement were also given freely to us.The first words upon entering her home were you want a cuppa tea? And the wonderful things she had with the tea!! We all will miss this godly woman her children will indeed rise up and call her blessed. Florence prayed for her family every day in faith believing that God heard & would answer her prayers. She'll be waiting for you with open arms and her beautiful smile . Faithfully she served the Lord in good times and bad. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! We'll be praying for you Tuesday.

Please accept our condolences on the passing of your loved one, a gem of a lady.
I (Hubert) am saddened by the thought of not seeing a dear woman that I looked for whenever I came home who welcomed me "with open arms". She was so pleased to hear my anecdote of Clarence's conversation to me when he took me to Whitbourne to go to Botwood to teach in 1960 that she asked me a couple of times to repeat it. Her display of quiet confidence was an inspiring testimony of her faith. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Patti, Penni, Mona, Suzanne & Brad,
So saddened to hear of Aunt Florence's passing. Our sincere condolences.
Craig and I have always thought of your mom as extended family. She was so precious to us and we have enjoyed sharing our lives with her over the years. We are so thankful for every special occasion we've celebrated together and smile at the ordinary days too.
Penni, how many times would I stand by your kitchen counter and wait for your mom to braid your hair so we could go out to play. Your home was my home. Some days I couldn't run outside the bridge fast enough just to be with you and Patti. Your mom's warm smile and big hugs always welcomed me.
We also remember more recently sharing our Christmas day together. All of us. What a time she had that day, she was so happy.
When I think of your mom I think of her as a testament to God's faithfulness over all these years. He knew exactly what she needed and she was provided for daily. He gave her strength beyond measure and such grace.
The love you have for each other is so evident. She has a family to be proud of.
Just know, you are not alone today. You are being carried and embraced by so many who love you.
Hugs,
Craig, Marsha, Nicholas & Caroline

To: Members of the Clarke Family and Extended Families
Sorry to learn about Florence's passing.
Let the Lord, that your mom served, be your source of comfort and strength at this time
and in the days, weeks and months ahead.
God cares and understands and is acquainted with your grief.
Philippians 1:21 states:
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
Cherish the fond memories.
Be encouraged with these words:
We'll all gather home in the morning,
At the sound of the great jubilee;
We'll all gather home in the morning,
What a gathering that will be!
Chorus:
What a gathering,
gathering,
gathering that will be!
What a gathering,
gathering,
What a gathering that will be!
You are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

Mona, Suzanne, Brad, Patti and Penni,
Today our hearts are saddened because of your mom's absence but Heaven is welcoming her presence. Imagine the reunion with those gone on before her.
Where would I start with my memories... too many to even begin. One outstanding one is the night I had the privilege of walking down the aisle with her when she surrendered her life to Christ. What an honor that was !!!
I feel blessed to have had her as an aunt. I know your hearts are broken today, as mine is and to say the least mom's. Know one can even fathom the depth of their friendship. A friendship that lasted through the years.
Aunt Florence worked hard and enjoyed the fruit of her labor. She was proud of her family and her countenence showed it whenever your names were mentioned. She loved her grandchildren equally as much. She loved her church family and went out of her way to help others. She will be missed. Oh, the good memories we have, I'm sure many of them have been mentioned in the past few days. Hang on to them and cherish them.
Your mom was a Proverbs 31 woman. Lived it out to the fullest.
We will be praying for you in the coming days, that God will wrap His arms of love around you and sustain you.
God Bless

Penni and Patti,
I just learned of your mom’s passing. I am filled with extreme sadness. Your mom was a beautiful person on the inside and out. She was kind, generous, genuine, uplifting, and above all – an awesome mother to you both! I was fortunate enough to have experienced her maternal nature for myself. As a teenager I spent so many days and nights in your home. I remember vividly the smile on her sweet face whenever Penni or Patti would refer to her as ‘Floss’. I also recall the limitless hours Florence worked at the hospital providing for you both. She was such a hard working woman. A great example to us all. Her house was always open. I can almost smell her delicious tea buns baking now. Not to mention all those fabulous cookies she’d prepare at Christmas. She remained a part of my life for many years. On my wedding day, my husband and the groomsmen all gathered at Florence’s house to get dressed and prepare for the wedding. Most, if not all, of these men were strangers to her. But that just didn’t matter. She was doing it for me. I loved her for that. I know there are so many wonderful things about her that you will miss. I was always a little envious of your special Christmas Eve tradition when you would meet at Florence’s as a whole family. Cherish those memories. They are indeed priceless. Florence lived her life for two things – God and you, her precious family. It’s easy to see why she lived such a long life. God knew she was a blessing to anyone she came in contact with here on earth. I guess her work here is finally complete. Florence has left you her legacy. I’m a better person for knowing her. Right about now your mom is singing with the rest of the angels in Heaven. Just think of how happy and joyful she must be. I am thinking of you all.
Love Doris Newbury (Clarke)
