Obituary of Judy Colbourne

Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, August 19th, 2016, Judy Jane Colbourne (nee King) of Carbonear, age 61 years. Predeceased by parents: Wilson and Ellie King; baby sister: Betty, and sister: Effie Mercer; parents-in- law: Reuben and Mary Colbourne; brothers-in-law: Berkley, Calvin (Daphne) Colbourne, Bill Singleton and Tom Brown; sister-in-law: Loretta King; also predeceased by a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Leaving to mourn, husband of 41 years: John; one son: Robert (Jennifer); two grandsons: Max and Nate, whose smile and presence were better than any pain reliever; one daughter: Dr. Gina Colbourne (Andrew Rose); five brothers: Albert (Joan), Lindsay (Karen), Harold (Joan), Wilson (Joy), and Byron (Kellie); three sisters: Doris Clarke (David), Phyllis Collins (David), and Rosalie King (David Dermont); sisters-in-law: Carrie Dicks (Lawrence), Myrtle Singleton, Effie Menchions (Gordon), Joan Fost, Ada Vaters (John), and her guardian angel Marilyn Colbourne who was always there for her; brother-in-law: Gerald Mercer; also a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. At Judy’s request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place at St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear on Monday, August 22 at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment to follow at the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. No flowers or donations by request.
