Passed peacefully away at Carbonear Long-Term Care Facility on Thursday, October 13, 2016, John R. 'Jack' Carnell of Ochre Pit Cove, age 80 years. Predeceased by parents: Stephen and Gertrude, sisters: Lorraine (Carson) Crocker, Rita (Jim) Crowley, Edith (Harold) Coish, and Marion (Joseph) Peach. Leaving to mourn, one brother: Gerald Edward (Helen) Carnell, Ochre Pit Cove; two sisters: Mildred (John) Baggs, Boston, Massachusetts and Florence (Gordon) Learning, St. John’s; nieces and nephews: Melvin and Tony Peach, Darlene (Roger) Pike, Kim Carnell, Geraldine (Craig) Green, Tracey Carnell, and Janice Carnell (Johnny Baker); great-nieces and great-nephews: Dalton (Kesha and their daughter, Hayden), Jessica, Terri-Lynn (Adrian and their daughter Maggie May), Andrew, Shane (Leanne), Steven (Terri-Lynn), Mitchell, Lucas, Julia, Helena, and Brady; also a number of other great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Thursday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Western Bay. Interment in the United Cemetery, Ochre Pit Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the North Shore Central Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 159, Broad Cove, NL, A0A 1L0.
