April 10, 1933 - December 22, 2016 Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, December 22, 2016, Eric H. Slade of Salmon Cove, age 83 years. Predeceased by: parents: Douglas and Elizabeth; brothers: Reginald, Warrick (Vida), and Roy (Mildred); sisters: Sadie (Archibald) Rose and Agnes (Samuel) Antle; brothers-in-law: George Rose and Bert King. Leaving to mourn, wife: Jessie; children: Heber (Gianna), Brampton, ON, Gary (Norma), Western Bay, Jeannette (Jack) MacDonald, Bolton, ON, Edgar, Mulmur, ON, Rick (Ceanne), Brampton, ON, and Scott (Bernice), Salmon Cove; six grandchildren: Melissa (Luke), Justin (Adi), Ashley (Evan), Alisha, Mackenzie, and Erica; two sisters: Minie Rose, Salmon Cove and Arlettie King, St. Jones Within; sister-in-law: Bertha Parsons, St. John’s; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Thursday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, December 24 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church and Cemetery, Salmon Cove.
