Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear Long Term Care Facility on Thursday, February 2, 2017, Ellis R. Oliver of Northern Bay, age 93 years. Predeceased by parents: Reuben and Bertha, brothers: Max (Florence) and Doug (Gladys); sisters: Lily (Jack), Dorothy (Joe), and Nita (Allan). Leaving to mourn, wife: Sarah; three daughters: Betty McCarthy, Western Bay, Carol (Jim) O'Neil, St. John’s, and Wendy Hann, CBS; five sons: Wade (Lynette), Toronto, Don (Elaine), Ochre Pit Cove, Ron, Northern Bay, David (Darlene), CBS, and Clyde (Debbie), Burnt Point; a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Friday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, February 5 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Western Bay. Interment in the United Cemetery, Burnt Point.
