It is with heavy hearts that the family of Douglas Glenn Alcock, age 54 years, announce his passing on February 1, 2017 in Fort St. John, B.C. Doug passed away at his home, after a courageous six year battle with cancer. He is pre-deceased by his parents Leroy and Matilda Alcock, brother Bertram, sister Sandra Meaney, and nephews Lee Stone and Geoffrey Alcock. Left to mourn his loss are brothers: David, Eric (Ruby), sisters: Elaine (Fred Stone), Barbara (Bern Pittman), and Marion (Peter Foley); sister-in-law, Sadie Alcock; brother-in-law, James Meaney; a large circle of nieces and nephews and his loyal friends, John and Patty May, and Tyson and Ashley Carroll in Fort St. John, B.C., and Brian and Beverley Pearson in Prince George, B.C. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Harbour Grace on Friday, February 10, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Harbour Grace on Saturday, February 11 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 70 Ropewalk Lane, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3R9 or to St. Paul's Anglican Church Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 28, Harbour Grace, NL, A0A 2M0.
