I am so sorry not to be with you today. I have wonderful memories of times spent with Aunt Marcie and uncle Obe. Once, she drove from Old Perlican to St. John's with Alf and me and we talked from the time she got into the car until we dropped her off at Minnie's house. I will always remember her pleasant personality. Much love and sympathy to you all.
Ella and family.

I was christened Evelyn Marcella. Evelyn was for my father’s sister who died when she was 16. Marcella was for my mother’s sister who’s life we are celebrating today.
As I often reminded Aunt Marcie, I was her namesake, and we always had that special bond.
My Aunt Marcie was a very strong woman who always lived her life to the fullest.
I will always remember her as a feminist, well before her time. I saw in her an independent spirit that I admired when I was growing into my young adulthood.
The most obvious memory of her will be her love of life, having fun and telling a good joke. We all remember that with a smile in our hearts.
She showed me how to milk a cow, how to grow potatoes in the harshest of soil and how to spread fish on a flake -Not that it did me much good.
But, she also showed me how to stand strong along side of the man you love.
A I grew more mature and she grew older, I saw in her an indomitable spirit. And I knew I wanted to have that spirit too.
My Aunt Marcie, my namesake, was a remarkable woman.
And I am so happy to be able to have had her in my life.
She will remain an indelible part of my memory and hold an irreplaceable place in my heart.
And she will know that, for I will say her name with mine forever.

To the Family: Avrum sends his deepest sympathies.

Sorry to hear of Mrs Meadus passing. I am a Lay Minister from St. James Anglican Church Carbonear and I conducted a service at Luxury Estates once a month, and got to know Mrs Meadus , She never missed a service and happily participated in the services and really enjoyed the singing very much. I always admired how well she kept herself, she always pleasant . I use to put in furnaces back in the 60s and 70s and many were put in down the shore. Especially the schools and churches in Grates Cove and Bay de Verde so we had many a chat about folks I remembered in the Grates... She was just one fine and beautiful lady. God Bless her,May she rest eternal. God Bless you all .
