Randy was my first Crew Chief when I joined 435 Sqn in 1995. He was a great supervisor with a firm hand, steady guidance and an excellent sense of humour. I will remember Randy and honour him with a quiet toast. He will be missed.

Sincere condolences to the family. Randy was a good man. He lived life as it should be, to the fullest! Taken too young he will be greatly missed! I will miss his rants on Facebook and his tell it as he sees it attitude...I know he's crusing around up there listening to his tunes! Rest in Peace Randy!

Karen, words will not suffice to express the heartfelt sorrow that I feel about Randy’s passing. I know that all this is hard for you to bear right now but after the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories that we’ve shared with our loved ones who have passed. This is what keeps them alive in our hearts and in our minds, and they will continue to live on, through us. I read in his obituary that “Randy died doing what he loved best, listening to music and celebrating life”.......... I was so glad to meet him for the first time when he was doing just that - dancing the night away - when you both came to our dance in Bay de Verde and then again in Lower Island Cove. Please accept my deepest condolences. Peace!!

So sorry for your loss! Randy was my crew chief in Winnipeg :) He brightened my life and made me snicker when he even called the ladies on the crew "Buddy"! My father in law came to the hanger for a holiday visit and for years later asked me fondly, how my Newfie boss was doing! Going to miss him as a FB friend who brightened up my cold Manitoba morning's with his hot spot pics and funny narratives ! God Bless him and his loving family ❤️

Just became aware of this tragic news. I knew Randy way back in the Edmonton days. First interaction was in the flight line truck; Hey Randy call the tower for clearance. Randy, "Hey Buddy in the tower this is Buddy in the truck, over".
Laughed my ass off, this guy was a keeper!!!

Karen, I am so sorry to hear of your loss and your sadness. Maybe you don't remember me but I remember you since you were born, once you were lost, asleep in the potato trench, everyone around was looking for you. Smile!
Your parents were so appreciative and proud of you.
I knew Randy when he was very little as well, when I married and moved from LIC to Western Bay, maybe he was around 8 or 9 years old.
Life seems very unfair sometimes. I just want you to know that I am thinking very fondly of you and Randy at this time.
Kind Regards
Joanne

It is so good that you and Randy spent the last few years travelling and enjoying life together. Although both Clyde and I are out of the province at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with you. May both you and Ben find comfort in each other and the wonderful memories you share.

Karen and Ben. I am so deeply saddened to hear of Ran's passing. As I read the obituary I realized he had not changed much from when we were all young growing up in river head.
I have many good memories of Ran , coming to our house and goofing around with cousin Baxter. His sense of humor was always part of the conversation. As we all got older and moved to find our way , our childhood memories stay with us. These positive, loving memories are indeed in my thoughts. The words devotion, loving, honesty ,and of course humor are all attributes that contributed to Ran's personality.
In deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences .. I send you both a sincere hug and loving thoughts.

We are so saddened to hear of Randy's sudden passing. We are sending love and hugs and prayers. Although we only spent a short time with Randy and Karen in Mexico, we are so grateful to call them friends. We will always remember Randy's laughter and sense of humour and wonderful story telling. Bob shared a common interest in the stock market and had great conversations discussing stocks and investing styles. We admired Randy's energy and love of life. He inspired us. We are grateful to have had a short visit last season in Mexico to hear of all the adventures and fun from their travels. He packed a lifetime into too short a life and we are reminded with his passing, to live each day to the fullest, like he did. Sending many blessings to you dear Karen and to your son who we never met but hope to.....may God hold you both in loving arms and give you strength to move through the grief to the other side, which is pure love. Take care, Judy and Bob

It is with so much sorrow that I write this. I just don't have the words.
What I can say is that Howard and I were privileged to have known Randy. He brought such Joy to us whenever we were together. He made us laugh, we loved his adventurous spirit, his love of music. Randy was so much fun to be with and we are so grateful that we got to share a small part of our life with him.
Our thoughts are with you both and can only imagine the big void Randy's death is going to leave in your lives.
