Obituary of James E. Langer
Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, September 15, 2017, after a long and adventurous life of 91 years. Predeceased by parents, Bertha and Daniel Langer; wife: Marie; son: Jimmie; step-daughter: Dale Keating; long-time friend and companion: Jane Newhook; brothers and sisters. Leaving to mourn and cherish his memory are his loving daughters: Mae (Terry) Bishop, Marge (Dave) Rendell, and Cynthia (Perry) Young; grandchildren: Nicole, Joey, Hidi, David, Andrew, Terri-Lynn Marie, and Kelli; great-grandchildren: Alexander, Michael, and Madison; step-daughters: Ann (Ted) Penney, Lori (Dave) Newhook, Kay (Dave) Coish, Wanda (Gerald) Smith, Michelle (Gary) Woodman, and Melissa Newhook (Steve) and their families; brothers: Ennis (Genevieve), Dan (Dot), and Will (Anna); very special nephew and his guardian angel, Jude St. George; special nephew: Terry (Pauline) St. George; also numerous other nephews, nieces, and friends.
Jim was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on September 22, 1926, residing in Heart’s Desire since the age of 9. At the time of his death he was the oldest resident of the community. He was married to Marie St. George on August 21, 1949. A very hard working man all of his life taking on anything life brought his way. Now he is gone to join his family who went before him. May he rest in peace.
Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, 106 Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. There will be no Funeral Mass. Interment to take place in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Heart's Desire on Monday, September 18 at 2:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Heart's Desire, c/o St. Patrick’s RC Parish, PO Box 429, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1B8.
