Obituary of Janice Penney

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s on Thursday, October 5, 2017, Janice Penney of Musgravetown; formerly of Western Bay, age 63 years. Predeceased by husband: Bruce; parents: Douglas and Carrie Whalen; brothers: Gerald (Shirley) and Dexter (Phyllis). Leaving to mourn, daughter: Carrie Lynn, Edmonton, AB; son: Chris, Edmonton, AB; grandson: Nicholas; two brothers: Wayne (Violet) Whalen, Western Bay and Jeff (Grace) Whalen, Pasadena; sister: Dona Whalen, Dartmouth, NS; brothers-in-law: Baxter (Marjorie) Penney and Grayson (Doreen) Penney, both of Western Bay; special friend and caregiver: Irene Chaffey, Musgravetown; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family has requested no visitation. A Funeral service to celebrate Janice’s life will take place on Sunday, October 8 at 2:00 p.m. from Heritage United Church, Musgravetown. Inurnment to be held on Monday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Cemetery, Western Bay North. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Janice Penney Memorial Fund c/o Noel’s Funeral Home, 106 Water Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9.
