Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, November 11, 2017, Wallace Maidment of Salmon Cove, age 76 years. Predeceased by daughter: Shelia; parents: William and Mabel; brothers: Charles, Cecil, and Max; sister: Joyce; father-in-law: Jehu Rose. Leaving to mourn, wife: Thelma; three daughters: Karen (Boyd) Barrett, Spaniard’s Bay, Wanda (Terry) King, Perry’s Cove and Carolyn (Ken) McCarthy, Salmon Cove; six grandchildren: Bradley (Donna), Tara (Alex), Brendan (Kristen), Gavin, Matthew (Alannah), and Keshia; great-grandson: Tyson; brother: Garry (Ann), Goose Bay; three sisters: Nellie Szabo, Spaniard’s Bay, Dorothy (John) Wall, Pouch Cove, and Linda (Roy) Yetman, St. John’s; mother-in-law: Aseneth Rose, Salmon Cove and members of the Rose family; also a number of extended family and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Monday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, November 14 at 11:00 a.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to Daffodil Place, 70 Ropewalk Lane, St. John’s, NL, A1E 5T2 or the Angel Fund, P.O. Box 310, Bay Roberts, NL, A0A 1G0.
