Obituary of Leonard Mahaney

Passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, December 9, 2017, Leonard Mahaney of Harbour Grace, age 71 years. Predeceased by parents: Roy and Bessie; brothers: Johnny and Frederick; sister: Elsie; parents-in-law: Pearce and Cecilia Purcell; brothers-in-law: Patrick (Vera) Purcell and Alphonsus (Gwen) Purcell. Leaving to mourn, wife: Eileen; two daughters: Cecilia (Christopher) Colbourne, Airdrie, AB and Melissa, Harbour Grace; one son: Lenny (Chantelle), Harbour Grace; three grandchildren: Megan, Jeffery, and Matthew; six brothers: Thomas, Silas (Florence), Philip (Joan), and Garfield (Linda), all of Harbour Grace, Willis (Cindy), Carbonear, and Norman (Beverly), Tilton; four sisters: Margaret (David) Higdon, Carbonear, Marjorie (Joe) Oliver, Fort McMurrray, AB, Bessie Mahaney, and Edith Mahaney, both of Harbour Grace; brothers-in-law: Solomon Welcher, Badgers Quay; Leo (Hazel) Purcell and Richard (Marilyn) Purcell, both of Harbour Grace, and Tom (Phoebe, deceased) Mercer, Riverhead, Harbour Grace; sister-in-law: Ada Vaters, Carbonear; also a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Sunday, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Cremation to follow. Inurnment on Thursday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. from the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace.
