Obituary of Drucilla McCarthy

Passed peacefully away holding the hands of her “favorite son-in-law” John and eldest granddaughter Kelly at Lion's Manor, Placentia on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, Drucilla McCarthy of Carbonear, age 89 years. Drucilla is the last of the Long Drungers. Predeceased by daughter: Theresa Nicholl; parents: Frederick and Frances McCarthy; brothers: Patrick, William, Thomas, and Frederick. Leaving to mourn, son-in-law: John Nicholl (Geraldine), Paradise; three grandchildren: Kelly (Shannon), Anthony (Olga), and Wendy (Rick); eight great-grandchildren: Taylor, Brianna, Patrick, Beacan, Edward, Michael, Emily, and Jessica; one sister: Agnes Neville, St. John’s; special friends: Patsy Coombs Ennis, Placentia and Alec Nicholl, Kelligrews; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Thursday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Friday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Friday at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carbonear.  In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Parkinson Society of NL, 136 Crosbie Road, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3K3 or to a charity of one’s choice.
