Obituary of Todd Whalen
Passed suddenly but peacefully away at his home on Sunday, March 11, 2018, Todd Whalen of Carbonear; formerly of (and always from) Western Bay, age 50 years. Pre-deceased by grandparents: Doug & Carrie Whalen and Pearl & William Penney; uncles: Aubrey Penney, Chesley Penney, Dexter Whalen, Gerald Whalen, and Bruce Penney; aunts: Phyllis Whalen, Shirley Whalen, and Janice Penney; father-in-law: Arthur Peach. Left to mourn are his wife for only three and a half years, but lifelong friend: Sharon Peach; their fur baby Watson; his parents: Violet and Wayne Whalen; mother-in-law: Daphne Peach; one brother: Terry (Kim); nephew: Tristan; sisters-in-law: Paula (Jim) Layden, Jackie (Calvin) King, and Wanda (Shawn) King; newly acquired nephews and nieces: Jimmy (Nicole), Terri-Lynn, Jennifer (David), Kevin (Lauren), Jordan (Caitlyn), Morgan (Katilyn), and Alaina; two beautiful great-nephews: Liam and Jensen; special friend and confidante: Lester (Karen) Wheadon and their son Zachary; also many IBEW friends and “brothers” including local brothers: ‘Kidd’ Smith, Wayne Woodford, and Rhodie Smith with whom he loved to discuss and debate union matters and just about everything else. Many other extended family whom he loved, as well as many souls he met along the way as he traveled all over Canada and the U.S. for work. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Tuesday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Wednesday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Western Bay. Inurnment will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
