Obituary of Evelyn Janes

It is with heavy hearts and many fond memories we announce the passing of our cherished Mom, Evelyn (Hollett) Janes of Carbonear on Thursday, June 14, 2018, age 88 years. Predeceased by husband: Clarence; mother and father: Susanna and James Hollett; sisters: Magretta (Ches) Powers and Mildred (Lloyd) Thomas; brothers: Ken Hollett and Frank (Marie) Hollett; mother and father-in-law: Drucella and George Will; sisters-in-law: Phyllis (John) Cornish and Hilda (Bert) Power; brothers-in-law: Ambrose, John, Leo, and David. Leaving to mourn with broken hearts and many treasured memories, her loving daughters: Wanda (Ron) Garland, Carbonear, Robin (Frank) Lynch, St. John’s, and Jackie (Dwayne) Lake, Torbay; brother-in-law: George (Peggy) Janes, Carbonear; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Janes, Carbonear, Iris Janes, Truro, NS, and Debbie Janes, St. John’s. Mom will be sadly missed and always remembered by a large circle of nieces and nephews, other relatives and cherished friends. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her family. She cared for us through the years and when Mom needed us most, we were privileged to give back to her, what she taught us, which was love, respect, and compassion. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Saturday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Inurnment in Bethany United Cemetery, Carbonear.  In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, 31 Peet Street, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3P8.

God looked around his garden and found an empty space. He then looked upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best.
