Obituary of Donald Harvey

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre, St. John's on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, Donald Harvey of St. John's; formerly of Freshwater, Carbonear, age 101 years. He was a warm-hearted and kind man who touched the lives of many. Predeceased by 1^st wife: Susie, 2^nd wife: Elizabeth 'Beth', granddaughter: Nicole; brother: Charles, and sister: Hazel. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted son: Gregory (Sheila), Mount Pearl; step-daughter: Judy Symonds, Carbonear; step-grandchildren: Todd (Lisa) Symonds, Jillian (Joe) Roberts, and Matthew Symonds; step-great-grandson: Evan Roberts; special nephew: John (Lise) Harvey, their two children: Joel and Maxine (Michael); brother-in-law: Harold Morris; cousins: Eric, John, Frank and Sidney Parsons; in-laws: the Pittmans, Knotts, Whites and Hiscocks: special friends: Wilbur and Karen Bugden, their two children: Luke and Kate, Brian and Debbie McNamara, their two children: Briana and Brent; and Olive Hussey who was a close and dear friend; also a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank the residents and staff at Karwood Retirement Retreat; also to Dr. Pittman, Dr. Robbins, and Dr. White for their compassion and care shown over the years. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, Hamilton Ave., St. John’s on Friday, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Then resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water St., Carbonear on Saturday, 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, August 25 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Freshwater, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
