Obituary of Glenys Mae Penney
Passed peacefully away, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's. Glenys Mae (Vincent) Penney of Harbour Grace, age 63 years. Greeted with open arms at Heaven’s Gate by loving husband: Wayne, dear father: Victor Vincent, parents-in-law: William Penney, Jessie Babb, Maxwell Babb, and brother-in-law: Edward Penney. She leaves to celebrate a life well lived and loved, her two sons: Vincent (Jacqueline), Ontario and Michael (Leanne), Conception Bay South, and her daughter: Crystal, Harbour Grace, all of whom she was incredibly proud of. Nanny will be sadly missed but remembered for her love by grandchildren: Gavin, Olivia, and Reid. She is survived by her mother: Mae Vincent, Newtown; cherished siblings, brothers: Calvin (Betty) Vincent, Steady Brook and Hughie (Margaret) Vincent, Newtown; sisters: Beatrice (Chris) Menchenton, Alberta, Anne (Frank) Byrne, Kilbride, Sylvia (Perry) Howlett, Goulds, and Evelyn (David) Sainsbury, Wesleyville; sisters-in-law: Myrtle (Philip) Sharpe, Eileen (Patrick) Nugent, Mary (Wally) Wrice, and Alice Sharpe; brothers-in-law: Norman Babb and Edward ‘Ned’ Babb. She will hold a special place in the heart of her God Daughter, Nancy Murphy. She shares many fond memories with the U.C.W. ladies of Harbour Grace and the TriCon Special Olympics organization. Special thanks to her ever thoughtful care giver April Searle and to Gerard Glavine for his selfless acts of kindness and also to Rev. Nancy Mojica-Fisher for her spiritual care. Thank you to the incredible Medical and support staff of 4 North A and Dr. Tomkins at the Health Sciences Centre. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harbour Grace on Wednesday, January 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to follow on Wednesday, January 16 at 2:00 p.m. from Coughlan United Church, Harbour Grace. Inurnment in Coughlan United Cemetery, Harbour Grace.
