Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Friday, March 8, 2019, George N. Smith of Harbour Grace, age 75 years. Predeceased by parents: Benjamin and Mary; sister: Rita (Ron) Russell; infant siblings; parents-in-law: Bernard and Eileen Farrell; brother-in-law: John Baker; sisters-in-law: Mary Smith and Cynthia Misch. Leaving to mourn, wife: Betty; two daughters: Paulette Smith, St. John’s and Nicole (Greg) Godden, Goose Bay; one son: George Jr. (Tracy), Belfast, UK; one granddaughter: Grace, "Poppy's Girl"; three brothers: Edgar, Sudbury, ON, Austin (Suzanne), St. John’s, and Dave (Christine), Marystown; two sisters: Gertrude Baker, St. Anthony and Linda (Alec) Turpin, Mount Pearl; brothers-in-law: Bernard (Debbie, deceased) Farrell and Murray Misch, both of Harbour Grace; sisters-in-law: Lynda (Aubrey) Greeley, Ottawa, ON, Debbie (Gabe) Gregory, St. Philips, Sharon (Dwayne) Crummey, Victoria, and Michelle (Pat) McCarthy, Orillia, ON; special furry friends: Molly, Zoe, and Murphy; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Saturday, March 9, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 10, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
