Passed peacefully away at her residence surrounded by her loving family, Ethel Mae Barrett (nee Mercer) of Gander, formerly of Harbour Grace. She was predeceased by her husband: Claude of Harbour Grace; their baby daughter: Deborah; her parents: Eloil and Ethel Mae Mercer of Upper Island Cove, and son-in-law: James Morrissey. Leaving to mourn, her daughters: Elizabeth, Hilda (Albert Coffey), Doreen (Norman Porter), Claudia (Paul Adams); sons: Donald (Mary Elaine), Shawn (Karen); 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; companion: Maurice Kennedy; sister: Mary Bishop, also a large circle of family and friends. She loved them all. A special thanks goes to Greg Banfield of the Palliative Care Services in Gander and also to home support worker Chanelle Gagnon. As per her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service at this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Stacey’s Funeral Home Gander/Carmanville.
