Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park Retirement Home, St. John's on Thursday, March 28, 2019, Dorothy Delaney of Gull Island, age 94 years. Predeceased by husband: Patrick; parents: Felix and Monica Hogan; sister: Bernadine (Austin) Power; brothers: Bill (Helen) Hogan and Benedict Hogan; sisters-in-law: Rose Hogan and Mary 'Min' Hogan; brothers-in-law: Andrew Woodfine and Jack Hanrahan. Leaving to mourn, one daughter: Monica (Robert) Layman, Mount Pearl; two sons: Bill (Delores), Halifax, NS and Gerard (Stella), Mississauga, ON; six grandchildren: Scott (Doreen), Dawn (Lex), Dean (Audra), Todd (Meaghan), Paul (Maureen), and Beverley Ann (Darren); twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers: Leo (Marie) Hogan and James Hogan, both of Ontario; two sisters: Josephine Woodfine, Northern Bay and Mary 'Peg' Hanrahan, St. John’s; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Saturday, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Monday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
