Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully with her family at her side, on May 23, 2019 at St. Luke’s Homes. At 93 years, she was predeceased by her husband Simeon Wallace (Bill) Wheeler; parents Samuel and Emma Rixon; brother William John and granddaughter Susan Spencer. She leaves to mourn her daughters Marie (Stephen) Irving, Pamela (David) Brown; granddaughters Kimberly (Eugene) Martin, Cheryl (David) Walsh and Heather Irving-Woodfine (Robert); great-grandchildren Logan and Ashley Martin, Ryan and David Walsh, Jocelyn and Lorelai Woodfine; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff at St. Luke’s Homes for the special care provided to Susie over the past year. Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel in Lower Island Cove on Saturday, May 25, 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 26, 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a service in the Citadel on Sunday, May 26 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery in Lower Island Cove. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 55, Lower Island Cove, NL, A0A 2W0.
