Obituary of Jim Slade

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, June 29, 2019, Jim Slade of Carbonear, age 77 years. Predeceased by parents: Patrick and Frances; parents-in-law: Reuben and Caroline Squibb. Leaving to mourn, wife: Livy; son: Jamie (Stacey), Carbonear; two brothers: Edward (Mary), Carbonear and Brian, Brampton, ON; two sisters: Mary St. George (Fred Hutchings) and Bride Squibb, both of Carbonear; brothers-in-law: Clarence (Fronie) Squibb, Mount Pearl, Dave (Florence) Squibb, St. John’s, Lewis Squibb (Patsy Smith) and Reuben (Debbie) Squibb, both of Carbonear, and Alex (Jackie) Squibb, Bay Roberts; sisters-in-law: Joy McCarthy, Carbonear and Lorraine McCabe, North River; special friend: Bill Langer, Victoria; also a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday, 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, July 1 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Cremation to follow. Inurnment to be held on Thursday, July 4 at 11:00 a.m. at the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear.
