Obituary of Elizabeth 'Betty' Harney

Passed away at the Carbonear General Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer on Monday, November 4, 2019, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Harney of Riverhead, Harbour Grace, age 73 years. Predeceased by parents: Edward and Irene Gorman; brothers: Dick and Myles. Leaving to mourn, husband of 51 years: Rev; brothers-in-law: Wallace (Marina) Harney and Austin (Helen) Harney; aunt and uncle: Marg and Tom McCarthy; cousins: Pauline and Vince Hunt, Cathy and Terry Parsons, Tommy McCarthy (Agnes), and Alf and Jean Adams; friends: Gus and Lorraine Blyde, Kevin and Marie McGrath, Dave and Marilyn Hickey and Paul Ash (Amy); also a large number of other relatives and friends. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass to take place on Thursday, November 7 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Inurnment to take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, 300 Prince Philip Drive, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3V6.
