Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, February 8, 2020, George A. Slade of Salmon Cove, age 84 years. Predeceased by wife: Rita; parents: Isaac and Leah; brothers: Albert (Phyllis), Art (Betty), and Isaac; sisters: Mary, Jenny (Ambrose), and Alvina (George). Leaving to mourn, daughter: Cavelle (Ivan) Reynolds, Salmon Cove; two sons: Paul (Connie), Salmon Cove and Curtis (Colleen), Victoria; four grandchildren: Katrina (Matthew), Alicia (Andrew), Courtney (Kodie), and Joshua; one great-granddaughter: Briella; sister-in-law: Mina Slade, Salmon Cove; special nephews: Dave (Barb) Slade and Allan (Claudia) Oates; other cherished nieces and nephews; special friends: Keith and Gloria Taylor; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Monday, 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, February 11 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Inurnment in Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to six year old, Emma Clarke who is battling cancer.
