I want to offer my sincerest condolences to all of Cynthia's family, but particularly to you, Glenys, on the loss of your dear sister. Although we have not remained in touch over all these years, I have warm and vivid memories of you and Cynthia from our days at Bishop Jones Memorial Hostel. She was a lovely, kind person.

To Cynthia’s family:
I am not sure if my first attempt at sending a message came through to you, so I will try again.
So very sorry to hear of Cynthia’s passing. I knew Cynthia when we were both first year students at MUN in 1965, then as teachers attending teacher workshops. We both met again at the Pigeon Inlet Quilting Guild after our retirement.
Cynthia was a very kind and gentle lady with a beautiful smile.
Thinking of you all at this time. We will miss her at the Guild.

Our sincere condolences go out to Verdon and all the family. I will miss her laugh above all. Rest peacefully, dear friend. Mildred and Wayne Smith

Verdon, Ann, Phillip and families, Our group of "school ladies" has just lost a happy, comical, compassionate member and dear friend. Cynthia taught with me personally most of her teaching career and we had many experiences over the years. I am so glad that I got to talk with her over the last few months and she gave me comfort in accepting her illness. I will always treasure those phone calls and the fact that even though I was out of the province I could still travel with her through the last weeks of her illness. Bill and I wish to pass along our condolances and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace, free from all her suffering. Hugs to you all.❤️

Mrs. Coombs was my school teacher for third and fourth grade. Like many children I didn’t realize how important she would be to me as a child in her class but as an adult I realized how much I utilize the things she taught me every day. I was lucky enough to be able to tell her those things and as two adult working moms we were able to laugh about it. She was absolutely head over heels in love with her family and was a truly dedicated educator. The world will be a darker place without her and she will be greatly missed. My condolences to her loving family and close circle of friends.
