WHEELER, Janet - Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Friday, January 18, 2013, Janet Wheeler of Lower Island Cove, age 100 years. Predeceased by husband: Charles; grandsons: Raymond and David; brother: John; sisters: Florence and Minnie Belle. Leaving to mourn, daughter: Alma Pike, Lower Island Cove; two grandchildren: Linda Brodie (Keith Morris), Mississauga, ON and John (Joanne) Pike, Montreal, PQ; six great-grandchildren: Michael and Lisa Brodie, Cynthia and Christopher Pike, Jonathan and Natasha Pike; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister: Elsie May Halliday, Montreal, PQ; sisters-in-law: Mabel Halliday and Blanche Stockwood, Gull Island; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove on Tuesday from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, January 24 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Lower Island Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made the Salvation Army Citadel or Cemetery, P.O. Box 55, Lower Island Cove, NL, A0A 2W0.
