Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, May 21, 2020, E. Freeman Burton of Harbour Grace; formerly of Harbour Buffett, age 98 years. WWII Royal Navy Veteran. Predeceased by parents: William and Rachel Anne; brothers: Stanley, Aubrey, Albert, Louis, and Charles; sisters: Edna and Eliza. Leaving to mourn, his wife of 67 years: Ethel; one daughter: Yvonne (Rod) Sheppard, Harbour Grace; two sons: Harold, Logy Bay and John (Annette), Salmon Cove; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Todd), John (Denise), Luke, Zack, Ryan, and Tyler (Ashley); four great-grandchildren: Mya, Madison, Sophie, and Peyton; one brother: Donald (Pearl), Fortune; one sister: Evelyn Dicks, St. John’s; brother-in-law: James (Marie) Dicks, Harbour Grace; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Due to the current pandemic, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private inurnment will be held in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace. As an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, 31 Peet Street, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3W8.
