Obituary of Andrew J. 'Andy' McCarthy

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at his residence, on Sunday, May 24, 2020, Andrew J. 'Andy' McCarthy of Riverhead, Hr. Grace, age 61 years. Predeceased by parents: James and Mary; brother: Edward; brother-in-law: Clarence Lynch. Leaving to mourn, two sisters: Marie Arnold, Ottawa, ON and Rose Lynch, Bishop’s Cove; two brothers: Dennis (Ann), Hr. Grace and George (Melvina), Riverhead, Hr. Grace; sister-in-law: Alice McCarthy, Riverhead, Hr. Grace; special nephew and Guardian Angel: James; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thank you to Marg and Paul McCarthy who played a special part in Andy’s life; also to his homecare workers, especially Ashley and Rebecca. Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass to celebrate Andy’s life will take place on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace.
