Obituary of Michael J. Coombs

Passed peacefully away at the Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, Michael Coombs of Heart's Desire, age 86 years. Predeceased by wife: Loretta; daughters: Loretta 'Loll', Philomena, and Alicia; son: Michael Jr.; parents: John and Mary Louise; brothers: Ambrose and Vincent; sister: Mary (Paul) Morris. Leaving to mourn, three daughters: Louise Coombs (Michael), Listowel, ON, Mary Anne Hudson (Bruce), Fairhaven, and Kimberly Coombs (Billy), Heart’s Desire; eight sons: Jerome (Wendy), Ricky (Rosalyn), both of Heart’s Desire, Gerard (Cathy), Alexander (Sherri), both of Listowel, ON, Alonzo, Heart’s Desire, Fabian (Melissa), Adam (Sonya), both of Listowel, ON, and Timothy (Michelle), Carbonear; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: son-in-law: Jeffrey Hudson, Heart’s Desire; one brother: Charles (Lorna); three sisters: Stella, Alice (Dominic) Lee, and Rebecca (Allan) Hart; sisters-in-law: Myrtle Coombs and Sharon Coombs; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Following government legislation due to the pandemic, a private visitation will take place at Noel's Funeral Home, Carbonear. Interment in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Heart’s Desire. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Michael J. Coombs Memorial Fund, c/o Noel’s Funeral Homes, 106 Water Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9.
