Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, January 1, 2021, Eugene ‘Gene’ Taylor of Harbour Grace, age 83 years. Dad passed into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family. Dad was predeceased by our brother - his infant son: Keith; his parents: Herman and Ethel Taylor; sister: Marion and her husband Gordon Walsh; brothers-in-law: Craig Cobane and Nicholas Perry, and father-in-law Ralph Yetman. Leaving to mourn, his devoted wife: Diane; daughters: Robyn (Tim) Brewer, Fall River, NS, Zoe (Elvis) Anderson, Harbour Grace, and son: David (Darcie and furry Boo boo), Grand Prairie, AB; five grandchildren: Ryan (Jennie), Adam (Alexis), and Cody (Rhea) Brewer, Dr. Taylor Anderson (Kate) and Logan Anderson (Emily); 5 great-grandchildren: Brody, Jacob, Charlotte, Riley, and Oliver Brewer; two sisters: Effie Perry and Margaret Cobane; mother-in-law: Hazel Yetman; sister-in-law: Jeanie (Bruce) Garland; brothers-in-law Jim (Judy), Tom (Michelle), Ken (Vonnie), and Derek (Marcella) Yetman. Dad was born in Bristol’s Hope but moved to Harbour Grace at an early age. Dad’s work took him all over the Avalon fixing furnaces and repairing gas pumps and because of this he was known by many. Dad was known for his story telling and his love of his family was evident based on the stories he told. Most will say he loved to have fun and to make people laugh and it was his infectious smile for which he will always be remembered. Thank you to the staff at the Health Science Complex and the Carbonear General Hospital for the care and compassion they gave our father. At dad’s request, cremation has taken place. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private visitation will take place at Noel's Funeral Home, Harbour Grace on Sunday, January 17. To schedule a visit, please phone the family at 596-6464.
